Hawkeye Point is the highest natural point in Iowa and stands at 1,670 ft above sea level. This elevation puts Hawkeye Point at position 42 for the highest peaks in the United States. The peak prominence for Hawkeye Point is 40 ft. and its isolation is 4.8 miles.
A cool feature at the top of Iowa's high point is that there five tall posts with signs pointing to the other 49 state highpoints, each with the correct distance noted.
