The Adirondack Mountains are located in the northeastern section of New York State and comprise 5,000 miles and outline the Adirondack Park. The highest point in the Adirondack Mountains is Mount Marcy at 5,344′. Lake Placid, made famous for hosting the Winter Olympics in 1932 and again in 1980. This region continues to be the home for Olympic Athletes training.
