Clingmans Dome is an observation tower with an elevation of 6,643 feet. This height places it at number 17 on the list of high points for the United States. The high point prominence of 4,543 ranks at 17 of the most prominent high points in the country. Clingmans Dome's isolation is 70.74 miles. Interesting fact: Clingmans Dome is the highest point in Tennessee and the highest point on the Appalachian Trail.
